Advocacy and Art

Updated: Nov 5, 2024

What's this website all about?

The idea of the project is to END THE STRAIN ON SHELTERS AND RESCUES. People turn away because it's sad, and it's sad because there's not enough volunteers – or there's too many people that just don't care about the consequences of reckless breeding, or the risks of letting dogs roam. Combining my passion for rescues with 20+ years of graphic design experience, I created a campaign that will speak up for overcrowded shelters with the mission to reverse the cycle, gain volunteers and fosters in local shelters and rescues, change minds when it comes to breeding, and how to buy from a breeder. End the strain on rescues.

The Rescue Dog Project is a passion project. Created to share an important message that rescues are overcrowded, strained for volunteers, fosters, donations, employees and the dogs suffer because of it. People are always sharing memes they care about, or relate with, so I started with just wanting to make eye-catching memes to get the message in front of people.

Ideas grow.

So then as a graphic designer – well what if people want bumper stickers and t-shirts, posters! Maybe people will wear the message, stick it on their car, or hang a poster in their classrooms.

Advocate your way.

  • Social Media – Simple as a share and costs nothing: Facebook/ Instagram/ TikTok

  • Advocacy Store – Wear the message and get it noticed. Start the conversation. Proceeds help financially support The Rescue Dog Project. Reaching as many people as we can takes dollars, especially in the beginning.

  • Digital Downloads – created for you to download for a small fee and take to your local print store. Hang posters in your community centers, veterinarian offices, classrooms etc.

  • New campaigns designed quarterly to keep the message fresh.

  • Share website with useful resources

The future: We work together.

The Rescue Dog Project was launched May 20, 2024 (National Rescue Dog Day). The project is always a work in progress, and the beginning has taken different directions based on who I meet and what I learn.

I am always willing to team up to make a bigger difference! I am looking into becoming a non-profit, but it is just me so I have a lot to do! For now, it remains my passion project I work on between my two jobs and caring for my own rescues.

And getting the word out is what needs to happen right now!

More to come.
